KDR Compressors is a family run business operating out of Melbourne, Australia. For the past 76 years KDR and associated family companies have been manufacturing air compressors and related products.

KDR have developed innovative technology and have licensed their products around the world, including to compressor giants like Ingersoll-Rand, Sullair, GHH.

KDR’s Director of Engineering, Tony Kitchener, lodged his first patent in 1982 and has successfully patented and licensed technology around the world over the past 37 years.

1943 – Manufactured machines tools in World War Two for US Navy
1946 – Started manufacturing piston compressors in Melbourne
1953 – Started manufacturing hoists and sewage ejectors
1965 – Started manufacturing VW integrated engine compressors
1972 – First manufacturing of rotary screw compressors
1982 – Patent for integrated screw compressor package
1983 – License to Stenhoj and Flottman for compressor package
1985 – License to Champion Compressors and Ecoair/GHH
1992 – License to Daewoo
1994 – License to Ingersoll Rand for compressor valve system
2002 – Patent for compressor system technology
2010 – Sale of patent to Sullair for compressor dryer system
2015 – Patent lodged for KDR Dryer invention.
